Description

Top seller: More than 1 800 000 sold!
This magnet in a steel pot has a countersunk hole and can be fastened with a countersunk screw. It is built into many electronic devices. Additionally, it is often used in metal processing, mechanical engineering and construction as well as in shopfitting applications, making it one of our top sellers. With the ZTN-32, we also carry a pot magnet with a 32 mm diameter and counterbored hole in our assortment.

The following screws fit into the CSN-32, for example:

  • Slotted countersunk wood screws: DIN 97 (5 mm)
  • Cross recessed countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 7046-2 M5 (5 mm)
  • Hexalobular socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 14581 M5 (5 mm)
  • Hexagon socket countersunk flat head screws (machine screw): ISO 10642 M5 (5 mm)

Neodymium magnets are brittle and can break under excessive application of force. Therefore, we recommend a maximum tightening torque of 2 Nm when fastening this magnet.

Please note: The full adhesive force is achieved when the ferromagnetic counterpart is smooth and of sufficient thickness and when the pot magnet makes direct and full flush contact. Pot magnets already lose much of their adhesive force at a distance of only half a millimetre to the ferromagnetic surface. This characteristic is more pronounced in pot magnets than in other ferrite and neodymium magnets. You can find additional fascinating information on our FAQ page about pot magnet features.

Additional features and tips

The graph shows the maximum adhesive force in kg (y axis) at various distances in mm (x axis) between pot magnet and counterpart (steel plate).
Example: At a 1 mm distance between pot magnet and steel plate the maximum adhesive force is still around 7 kg.
The answer to why you can arrange pot magnets only side by side can be found under our FAQ.

The structure of pot magnets

Pot magnets have a neodymium or ferrite magnet built into a steel pot. When it comes into direct contact with a surface, its force will be focused on the holding surface as a result. This increases the adhesive force of the magnet. For more information, please refer to our FAQ page on the characteristics of pot magnets.
